With the title Things are that they are... A Museum, is a Museum, is a Museum, artists Angela Valella and Odalis Valdivieso will work with archival documents to rethink the meaning of museology, memory, and loss.
Works will be physically arranged by personally responding and improvising to the space. Imagined biographies, history, collections, and photographs–departing from the idea that places affect the viewer and arrange a new experience.
Things are what they are... A Museum, is a Museum, is a Museum includes a selection of works that will highlight parts of the ongoing exhibition “This is not a museum” -currently showing at gallery space- by abstractly adding a parallel narrative. Simultaneously, the show implies an ironic approach to the very idea of a museum retrospective visually tracing events, creating a non-homogenized space.
At a time when codes seem to define all areas of experiences and understanding, Things are what they are... A Museum, is a Museum, is a Museum, points to the promise of a space beyond museums, galleries, and other institutional forms.
